This is the first striping of my Suprise Baby Jacket. I’m so excited to see how this knit turns out, that eventhough I have a TON of other knitting to do, I keep going back to this. I started with a blue stripe today! It’s so fun!

Queen Elizabeth has decided that she won’t sit still for portraits any longer, and this seems to be the only picture I took on Tuesday. I think it’s a very neat cat, and I was trying to give her as much attention as possible because we were away all weekend. I think you can still tell how adorable she is even with all the blurriness!

We went camping this past weekend. This is us cooking hotdogs, cornbread with corn, and toasting hotdog buns. Actually talking about it makes me want to recreate the dinner tonight on the grill. Probably won’t happen, but maybe I’ll eat a hotdog! Or cornbread! Or just pine for the smokey flavor of the campsite and snuggle on the couch with the cat.

I began a mitered square baby blanket with all of the organic cotton I had lying around. I love it. I want to make a lindsey-sized one. I doubt that will ever happen, but maybe someday. Yes, I am reading Mason Dixon Knitting, and yes I do want to knit myself a bathmat and a drawerful of pot holders.

On a whim, I made cookies on Sunday afternoon.
They weren’t my best. I didn’t know you had to use less whole wheat flour if you sub it for white flour, so they’re a little dry.
Here they are, in a box, on their way to someone’s office.
When you eat them, maybe you should dip them in some coffee or milk? It might help the texture a little.

I have been working on some paintings, and I had planned to use this method of transfering black and white copies with acetone. It did not work on the canvas, but I really like how it looks. I love the blurry texture of the structural lines of this bridge. I’ll have to figure out somewhere else to use it!

I went to Windsor Button and bought a ton of embroidery floss to make more brooches. I’ve been having a ton of fun with them, and I can’t wait to play around more with these fun new colors! I’m going to need to go buy more felt soon, or maybe I’ll wet felt some of the roving I have.
