June 2008

Take 2.

Sometimes you finish the yoke (the upper part) of your sweater, and then decide that maybe double stranding worsted weight yarn on a US8 needle wasn’t the best idea, so you rip the entire thing out, start over with a single strand and US7 needles, and are much happier with the results.

Then, sometimes you spend an entire Sunday reknitting the ripped sweater and watching documentaries on the National Geographic Channel.

And sometimes you get to work Monday morning, and wish you were at home, knitting peaceful garter stitch.

Mmm garter stitch. I reached the second button hole in my sweater last night. It’s going a little slowly because we’re still cleaning up the house. Hopefully I’ll have a lot of time to knit with the holiday and everything!

Beginning of the February Lady Sweater

Lindsey and I are both knitting the February Lady Sweater (a neat adaptation of EZ’s February Baby Sweater).  And in the same yarn!  We each bought a whole bag of this wool at Rhinebeck.  And we’re hoping to finish them and wear them together at Rhinebeck 2008!  Only slightly yarn-dorky, but we’ll be adorable, so it’s all OK.

There are miles of garter stitch.  Oh, top-down raglans.

yellow yarn for fls

Back to reality and back to time for knitting!  This wonderful yellow yarn was bought last October at Rhinebeck and has been waiting patiently for me to knit it into a sweater!  It’s This morning I began it- love the color, and it interestingly enough- matches my new Vera Bradley wallet perfectly. Guess I’m just digging that yellow.

Shetland Triangle, Pre-Blocking

It’s been a crazy, crazy, crazy few weeks.

As it turned out, my meetings for the weekend were cancelled and postponed, so I had a weekend to myself.  Which was fabulous.

I watched a ton of movies, and finished this shawl – Manos Silk/Wool Blend (a DK weight yarn), and the Shetland Triangle by Evelyn A. Clark in Wrap Style.

It’ll be blocked tomorrow.  I’m excited to start on new projects!
